ONE ACT OPEN PLAY FESTIVAL

23rd AND 24th March 2012

Dear Colleague

I am writing to advise that plans are now afoot to stage the 2012 NANDA One Act Open Play Festival. The event will be staged on the evening of Friday 23rd March 2012 commencing at 7-00pm and the afternoon and evening of Saturday 24th March at 2.00pm and 7.00pm. * Now Saturday 24th only, 2-30 and 6-30 * The Festival which is open to non NANDA members will be held at the Chilwell Olympia School Nottingham.

We have been privileged to obtain the services of DI RICHARDS as our adjudicator who has served as a leading drama educationalist ,theatre director and who in recent years has proved a popular adjudicator at all of our NANDA Festivals. We look forward to her expertise and seasoned judgements.

This One Act Play Festival, relaunched in 2010, forms part of NANDA’s firm belief in the value of the “one act” to stimulate greater opportunities for Group member participation/ training and to maintain this often neglected art form. In addition to these incentives in 2012 the winning play of this Festival will be eligible to compete in the AETF Central Area Final to be held at the Swan Theatre Worcester and the subsequent English National Final at the same venue on the 9th and 10th June 2012.

The cost of Group participation in this Festival has been set at £50 per group inclusive of up to 16 free tickets to one of the Festival sessions. Additional tickets can be purchased for other sessions at £5 per person per session.

I would particularly draw your attention to the following enclosures

A copy of the rules to be adopted for use at the Festival together with a list of Trophies to be awarded at the Festival
A Festival entry form (to print and post) for completion by your Group

I would welcome the opportunity of attending a future meeting of your Group Committee to explain and encourage participation in this Festival if you consider this would be welcome.
