One Act Play Festival- took part in first round of All England Theatre Festival going onto second round at Burton upon Trent (250 audience members). Need to rethink our involvement and the thoughts of our membership on this. So far this year this has not attracted any entries. Questionnaires sent to groups receive little feedback. Suggestion to combine. both One Act and Youth. Festival- was raised; Would have. difficulties with last night of Youth event which may go on too long, There is no rule saying Youth can't enter One Act Play Festival, to bump up numbers of entries. Youth Festival-- held at Robin Hood-Theatre in April: 9 entries, adjudicated by Bob Wildgust who commented on the high standard. Appreciation to Jean Lebeter asorganiser and Mike Stewart. for stage management. Play of Year - 2006 - Report from Joan Wildgust, 6 plays have been adjudicated so far by Jill Gautrey - Bonington x 2, Edwinstowe, Greasley, Keyworth, Robin Hood. Kegworth and West Bridgford should be entering in March. Adjudicator seems to be doing a very thorough job, although having trouble regarding time it is taking to get reports from her - don't want to rush and spoil comments. Kegworth and Greasley are new group entries this year. Training schools - were felt very useful and it is hoped there will be many more. More on lighting! stage management/make up/sound should be arranged - but throw open to member groups for their suggestions - NANDA happy to host these, but felt member groups may wish to host and invite other groups. It was felt that member groups have a wealth of expertise that could be shared. Bob Massey could be invited (lighting plus other areas) or Hawthornes/Furses - could approach different companies to help run these events. Could advertise this in newsletter. West Bridgford have held events like these years ago. This seemed an ideal opportunity for member groups to meet each other. Felt huge 'bonding' happened at previous training school. New Members package currently being produced to give out to new enquiries and to encourage new members to join. There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.45p.m |
